Winners From Summer Poker Event at Borgata Announced
Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa announces the results from the inaugural Borgata Summer Poker Open Tournament held July 8 - 20, 2006 in Borgata’s new 85-table poker room. Poker pros and regional poker fanatics competed in 32 events including Texas Hold’Em No Limit, Texas Hold’Em Limit, 7-Card Stud, Omaha, Super Satellites, Second Chance Cash and Sit-and-Go tournaments. The thirteen-day Borgata Summer Poker Open drew nearly four thousand participants with total cash prizes of $2,515,950. The tournament culminated with a four-day $5,000 + $200 No Limit Championship Event. Pennsylvania native, Carmine Tirone captured the title of the Championship Event taking home a $267,300 prize purse.

The 21,500 square-foot poker room features an eighteen-table High Limit Room offering food service; a nine-table tournament area offering bleacher seating for tournament viewing that can be partitioned off as a “reserved” poker area, and a 58-table Main Poker Room offering live poker action outfitted with plasma televisions.
